Alice Homer (d) was the oldest daughter of Leekya Deyuse (d) and was one of the most influential carvers in the history of Zuni fetish carvers. This piece was donated to TKF and is a charming example of Alice’s work. It is carved from a piece of travertine (known as Zuni Stone) that is found on Zuni Pueblo. The offering on top is characteristic of Alice’s fetishes, as is the stance and open mouth of this bear. The offering bundle is tied on with sinew in Alice’s way and includes turquoise and shell. The bear measures 3 inches long and 2 inches tall. $265. No Tax. Free Shipping in the USA.
