Ellen Quandelacy (1924-2002) was known for her inlay jewelry and carvings of domestic animals, especially horses, and fetish necklaces. The mother of many talented sons and daughters who are carvers, she is dearly missed by all who knew her. Ellen's delightful horse fetishes are easily identifiable. She always carved her horses, denoting if it was a mare or stallion. Older fetishes were often "sexed" as the male and female of the same species do behave in different ways! This beautiful Picasso Marble stallion was a donation for The Keshi Foundation’s work in Zuni Pueblo. The horse measures 2 3/8 inches long and 1 3/8 inches tall at the tail. $200. No Tax.
